Description
The Monastery (Al-Deir or Ad-Dayr) at Petra in Jordan. The building was probably built as temple under the Nabatean King Obodas I in the 1st century AD. Petra was the ancient capital city of the Nabatean Kingdom. In this site, that is one of the 7 wonders of modern world, there are temples, tombs and other buildings carved into the rock.
